Our Head Coach Pete Hurt
Pete Hurt is starting his first year as athletic director and head football coach at Northwest Rankin High School. He is beginning his 33rd season of coaching and his 16th season as a head coach. Coach Hurt has served as head football coach at Samford University, Clinton High School and Center Hill High School in DeSoto County. As head football coach, he led CHS to a District Championship in 2002 and played South Panola for the North State Championship in 2004. Coach Hurt left Clinton after the 2004 season to become offensive line coach at The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs for 2 years. In 2007, he took over a new program at Center Hill High School in DeSoto County. In 2009, CHHS went to the 2nd round of 4A play-offs and posted 7 wins. In 2010, CHHS went 10-3 and finished their season in the 2nd round of 4A play-offs. Coach Hurt is a 1978 graduate of Mississippi College and while studying at M.C., was a three-year letterman in football and a two-year letterman in baseball. He is married to the former Diana Williams of Water Valley, MS. She will teach this fall at Oakdale Elementary. They have one son, Clint, who is a freshman at Mississippi College.
